This is one of our bonus episodes – a moment with me.  Today I want to share some ideas about evaluating the executive director.

We all know that effective leadership requires clarity of expectations and feedback on an ongoing basis helping people know how they are doing. It is disconcerting that the anecdotal information is that many executive directors don’t get evaluated.

Without a defined evaluation process, the executive director has no real structure in place for ongoing performance/professional development feedback. This can be created with the Board but it is not a “natural” consequence of how the role is positioned in the organization. Designing the process that works for your organization is really about answering some key questions – considering the organizational context and priorities. Listen to learn about those questions and more.
